FAVORITE SONG/ARTIST: Many popular songs stripped down to acoustic version.

I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: Yoga, Family, Beaches, Sunsets, Bulldogs

FUN FACT: I love the minimalist lifestyle and want to live in a tiny house, motorhome or hotel room in 5 years to travel the world.

WHEN I’M NOT TEACHING: You’ll find me taking yoga and doing almost anything with amazing people (or dogs) . From a simple coffee + conversation to Global travel + majestic hikes, I love being around wonderful souls and community.

MY CLASSES: I love teaching all different formats. My foundation class allows for you to engage deeply from the ground up and slow down to feel every sensation in order to ensure fully intentional movements. My sculpt and flow classes are hip, fun and very challenging in order for you to find your edge, grow and learn your natural responses to stress on the body & mind. With thousands of hours of wellness coaching experience you can expect to see sprinkles of motivation and ways to discover what inspires your best life through the practice of yoga.

BIO: My dad told me growing up to go to college for something that I loved and I would never work a day in my life. I loved sports and fitness so I went to college for Kinesiology (the study of the body in movement). I went on to receive my 200 hour yoga teaching certificate in 2014 and have since taught over 1500 hours in various countries, earning the credentials E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher). In early 2019 I left my full time corporate wellness coaching career to teach full time, because guess what? It never feels like work when I’m teaching (Dad was right!) I also teach barre, yoga sculpt, yin yoga, Thai yoga massage, SUP Yoga and yoga for athletes. I can’t wait to guide your practice and take alongside you at LHYF!

WHEN I’M NOT TEACHING: You will find me lifting weights, reading or doing puzzles. My weekends are usually spent at our cabin in Shell Lake, WI.

MY CLASSES: My classes are created with the intention of everyone feeling welcome. When you step onto you mat there should be no judgment, egos are left at thedoor, and your yoga journey is just that – your own. I want to inspire with challenging you when needed but educating to prevent injury. My goal is for you to leave feeling better than when you came in, both mentally and physically.

BIO: I began my teaching journey in 1998 as a group fitness instructor when my youngest child was one. I became inspired to teach by the instructors I had over the years that helped develop my love of group fitness classes. My journey took me from cardio classes to strength classes where I found a true passion for what my body could do and that led to wanting to inspire others to challenge their bodies through strength. I took my first yoga class in 2003 and have never looked back. My yoga journey has not been a direct path to any one thing, but a guide to learning many things about myself. In 2011 I received my yoga certification through LifePower Yoga and now I can combine my love of yoga with my love of strength and connect both with movement of breath and movement of body.

FAVORITE SONG/ARTIST: Any song by Beyonce

I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: Wine and my people.

FUN FACT: I’ve spent a lot of time in my young adult life working with, and learning from, the breath. I’ve attended a 10-day ‘noble silent’ meditation course called “Vipassana”. Noble silence means you can’t speak to, look at, or communicate in any way, with any of the other students, the whole time. It was mentally the toughest thing I’ve ever done but I learned a lot about myself and the power of the mind and breath connection.

WHEN I’M NOT TEACHING: You’ll find me relaxing at home with my man, usually enjoying video games or cooking together. We also love to explore the culinary scene in Hudson and the Twin Cities. I love visiting with family and spending time in nature. We also have a sweet little cat who we shower our attention with and we are new to welcoming plant-babies into our home!

MY CLASSES: Focus heavily on breath. All movement is inspired by breath and we take our time with everything. We really pay attention to all that shows up in the moment, all the physical feelings and the internal sensations, the emotions, the kinds of thoughts we find ourselves having, we bring attention to everything, intentionally. My job is to help my students better connect with themselves.

BIO: My best friend introduced me to yoga while we were in highschool. It was at our local LA Fitness and I remember questioning how down-dog could possibly be a resting posture?! I got my butt kicked, but I remember feeling so good in Savasana and for hours after class. I didn’t take another yoga class for 3 years after that first one. Yoga truly found me and came into my life when I was going through a massive transition. I was stepping away from a path that didn’t feel good to me and took some time to figure out what I truly desired in life – which I’m still doing and I think can be an ongoing process. For the next year I spent a lot of time practicing yoga, almost every day. I was working at the Corepower Yoga in Woodbury to clean in exchange for yoga classes. After encouragement from family, friends, and teachers at that studio, I signed up for Power Yoga Teacher Training in 2015, and I’ve never looked back! I love being a teacher of this incredible practice. I later deepend my yoga teaching eduication with a Yoga Scult Teacher Training (where I first met Lindsey Robinson!) and a Hot Yoga Teacher Training. I believe yoga is for everybody and I love making it accessible to anybody. Breath is the foundation of my own practice as well as my teaching. Stronger, more flixible, and often healthier bodies can be the delightful result of a practice that, at it’s root, is all about bringing together mind, body and breath. I use music as a tool to help guide the flow of energy during class and my intention as a teacher is to empower my students to bring their yoga practice off of the mat and into their lives outside the studio – to truly live the yoga practice. I look forward to moving and breathing with you!

MY CLASSES: My classes are fun, welcoming, loud, energetic and positive! I love brightening your day, as endorphins are the key to happiness! My thoughts are, if you aren’t having fun, find a new workout.

BIO: After dancing with the University of St. Thomas my husband and I moved to the Quad Cities for his doctorate in chiropractic. In this holistic environment I found my first yoga class – HOT HOT HOT Bikram. I slipped around, struggled and eventually found the key to my new yoga obsession, “being present.” It filled the void I had after ending my dance career.
Since 1998 I have participated in myriads of yoga journeys, trainings, and classes that helped me navigate thru significant life experiences.
Besides practicing yoga, I have accumulated other helpful tools and certifications including barre, Pilates and of course, my personal training certificate. I love all aspects of teaching from: the creative programming of classes; the postural and alignment aspects of “good form”; to the interaction amongst the participants. I truly love empowering people and helping them find their own strength and balance

HOMETOWN: Hastings, MN

FAVORITE SONG/ARTIST: Anything by Trampled by Turtles or Pitbull (haha)

I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: A good night’s rest, a flannel, and candy

FUN FACT: My left foot is 2 whole shoe sizes larger than my right foot.

WHEN I’M NOT TEACHING: When I’m not teaching in the studio, you’ll find me working with special education students, active in my garden, or spending time with my husband, Black Lab, and German Shepard.

MY CLASSES: The moves and workouts in my classes are driven by energizing and heavy beat music. Each routine or rep is intentionally placed in a given sequence– which will demand you to get the most out of class. By the end of our time together, you’ll leave feeling rejuvenated and full of new energy! With each class, comes new music and new moves that will leave you wanting more.

BIO: Fast, demanding, and high-energy workouts have always had me under their spell.
Throughout my elementary and middle school years, you could find me working out alongside my mom doing the latest Jane Fonda, Denise Austin, or Richard Simmons videos. High school and college were devoted to running and participating in HIIT classes. It wasn’t until after college and becoming a special education teacher that I found Yoga Sculpt. Yoga Sculpt allowed me to put all negatives aside for an entire hour and just focus on the present me. I learned that Yoga Sculpt is not only a sweat drenching workout, but it allowed me to push my limits while minding alignment, and always begged for continued growth.
I’m certified as a Yoga Sculpt instructor though CorePower Yoga. My ideal class is fast paced, demanding, refreshing, and high energized (maybe even a bit silly).
I love that I’ve been given the opportunity to lead others to find their physical, mental, or spiritual outlet in a dynamic and positive way with others who have the same vision.

FAVORITE SONG/ARTIST: Forever in Blue Jeans by Neil Diamond

I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: Coffee or dark chocolate

FUN FACT: I loathe pickles

WHEN I’M NOT TEACHING: I am enjoying my family, friends or food, working out or watching sleazy reality TV

MY CLASSES: Music is a huge part of my classes, all of my playlists are a reflection of energy and are carefully crafted. My classes are rooted in strength, while also being a celebration of life and a fresh start. The ultimate goal is to be accessible, but also to push you to point where you are able to find a healthy challenge, whether that is mental or physical. If we are not challenging ourselves, we are not changing, and no one walks the door to stay the same.

BIO: I never thought I was a “yoga person.” I was a group fitness junkie, loved to run and physically challenge myself. I found yoga back in Spring of 2011. I was told I should try yoga, while I thought, “yeah, right” I tried it and fell in love. It was not only the physical challenge that I was looking for but was a way for me to unplug, but also connect. Fast forward to 2012 when a relentless instructor and now dear friend seen something in me that I never knew was there. I took the opportunity and am now have been in the yoga/fitness industry since 2012. I hold a 200 Hour Power Yoga Certification, as well as Yoga Sculpt, 200 Hour Hot Yoga, Restore and Candlelight. I’ve had the privilege of taking classes from world renown yoga instructors such as Seane Corn and Shiva Rea. I feel very fortunate to have found a place in the fitness world in which I can pay it forward and share my love and passion for health and wellness. I hope to challenge and inspire my students and look forward to seeing you on your mat! Namaste.

Favorite Song / artist: It’s always changing- but today it’s “Only Then will your House Be Blessed” – Harry Manx

I Can’t Live Without: Morning coffee, daily kombucha, & yoga of course

Fun Fact: Taught special education for years before I gave it up to teach yoga

When I’m Not Teaching: You’ll find me hiking with my husband and dog, Bonnie at any state park or hiking trail, which often leads to the lake or river (Snowshoeing in the winter & paddle boarding in the summer). AND… spending time with my 2 college kids and high school daughter. FAMILY is everything to me!

My Classes : By attending my classes you will leave feeling STRONGER physically and LIGHTER emotionally. You will be challenged physically by using all of your effort & strength (stira), so when it comes to the end of practice you can finally surrender to embrace stillness & grace (suka).  My love for music is weaved into the practice so you can lose yourself on the mat -with music that will move your body and touch your soul.  My moto is- listen to your body… we all have our own mats – I am your guide, your supporter, your teacher- but you know your body best so listen to it!  I am always open for feedback.  This is your practice – your class- I am here to help you achieve what you need!

Bio : I began practicing yoga when I was pregnant with my first daughter, which was 22 years ago.  My practice continued to evolve throughout the years as I attended different classes, studios, and gyms.  I got very serious about my practice 15 years ago which finally lead me to my 200 hour training almost 7 years ago.  The fuel behind my dedication to yoga was- I finally found a workout to give me physical and emotional benefits all in one.  One day at the end of practice about 15 years ago I was in supine twist, lying there in a pool of sweat, exhausted physically, but felt so empowered emotionally.  I felt this feeling of perfection and acceptance in all in one (like- All that I am is perfect- nothing more and nothing less).  We are all striving to be something- all striving to better (which can be good sometimes), but it is true bliss when fully accept where we are and love it. AND THAT IS WHAT YOGA GAVE ME.  What a gift!

MY CLASSES: I strive to make my classes as hard, accessible, fun & rewarding as possible! It doesn’t get easier, we just get stronger.

BIO: I’m not ashamed to admit my first intro to yoga was a Bethany Frankel DVD. I still use some of the cues from that video today. After practicing on my own for months I was so excited to take my first in studio class! Many years later in 2019 I found myself in teacher training. Lindsey took a chance on this newbie and I’m so grateful to call Light House Yoga + Fitness my home. Currently I’m certified to teach Yoga Sculpt. In the near future, sooner rather than later, I’ll be excited when I get to add 200 Hour yoga teacher training and have the opportunity to teach multiple formats.
